SELF ASSESSMENTS:
Who am I? Who are you?

Strength Deployment Inventory®

SDI Strength Deployment InventoryThe Strength Deployment Inventory is the cornerstone tool of Relationship Awareness® Theory. It is a powerful, self-discovery inventory for enhancing your ability to communicate more effectively AND handle conflict more productively. Unlike other personality assessments, the Strength Deployment Inventory goes beyond behavior to identify the motivation behind behavior — answering “why” individuals act the way they do. It becomes easier to accept a person’s actions when you understand what drives them from within. Plus, by revealing response to conflict, the Strength Deployment Inventory is actually two assessments in one.

Five formats* are available to fit any training situation: SDI Standard Edition #1010, SDI Premier Edition #1017, SDI Component Edition #1015, SDI Easy-Read Edition #1020, and Online SDI Standard Edition #1210.

*The inventory items are the same among the various formats except the #1020 which uses a more limited vocabulary for easier reading.

Portrait of Personal Strengths™

SDI Portrait of Personal StrengthsThe “Portraits” are our line of Q-Sort tools. With the Portrait of Personal Strengths, participants rank how they value and use 28 different strengths or behaviors to produce a picture of how they apply their strengths in relationships. Even though two individuals may share similar SDI results, they may prioritize their strengths differently and use different behaviors to build their self-worth. This portrait sets the stage for learning to borrow behavior to be more effective in relationships and provides insight into the idea of mask behavior. The Portrait of Personal Strengths is also useful in group applications for defining collective strengths of a team. Available in paper #1112 and online #1212.

Portrait of Overdone Strengths™

SDI Portrait of Overdone SrengthsWith the Portrait of Overdone Strengths, participants rank how frequently they may overdo 28 different strengths or behaviors to provide insight into the costs of overdone strengths and revealing sources of preventable conflict. Participants who use this portrait are able to make more informed behavior choices by recognizing when they are about to overdo a strength. When the costs of overdone strengths become clear, participants feel more empowered to borrow other behavior and be more effective. Available in paper #1114 or online #1214.

FEEDBACK ASSESSMENTS:
How do you see me?  How do I see you?

SDI Feedback Edition®

SDI Feedback EditionFeedback has the power to open the doors of understanding and is a vital component to building effective relationships. Using the SDI Feedback Edition can stimulate changes in behavior by uncovering differences in perceptions and encouraging dialogue with others. It is a non-adversarial way to shine a light on destructive misperceptions and enhance relationships. Available in paper #1030 and online #1230.

Feedback Portrait of Personal Strengths™

SDI Feedback Portrait of Personal StrengthsThe Feedback Portrait of Personal Strengths highlights the similarities and differences that arise as people use their strengths in relationships. This portrait provides a vehicle to communicate praise or compliments by stating: “These are the things that I notice most about you.” Learning occurs for both the feedback provider and the feedback recipient. Included is an easy-to-use gap analysis where specific areas for attention are easily identified. Available in paper #1132 and online #1232.

Feedback Portrait of Overdone Strengths™

SDI Feedback Portrait of Overdone StrengthsThis portrait offers a unique, non-confrontational way of giving feedback by addressing the potential cause of the conflict — not the conflict itself. The Feedback Portrait of Overdone Strengths reveals assumptions that people make about others and helps to resolve misunderstandings. It effectively explores differences in perceptions about how people may overdo or misapply their strengths, thereby causing unwarranted conflict in relationships. Specific areas are highlighted through an easy-to-use gap analysis. Available in paper #1134 and online #1234.

EXPECTATIONS ASSESSMENTS:
What is expected in my role?  What is expected in your role?

SDI Expectations Edition®

SDI Expectations EditionUnderstanding expectations is an important and often overlooked part of measuring and managing satisfaction with any role, job, position, or relationship. Using the SDI Expectations Edition brings SDI learning full circle when used to clarify relational expectations of any role. The results can reveal how to increase personal effectiveness and satisfaction in a situation or relationship. Each stakeholder related to a role may have their own perceptions of what is required of the individual in that role. These differences in expectations can lead to conflict or a lack of satisfaction for the stakeholders or the individual in the role. The SDI Expectations Edition provides an objective forum to get everyone’s expectations out in the open and on paper so differences can be discussed in a non-threatening and non-judgmental way. Available in paper #1050 and online #1250.

Expectations Portrait of Personal Strengths™

SDI Expectations Portrait of Personal StrengthsWith the Expectations Portrait of Personal Strengths, stakeholders related to a role prioritize 28 different expected strengths or behaviors to identify discrepancies in expectations. This flexible tool can be used as a self-assessment for a person’s own role, as a feedback instrument, or even to clarify expectations of a vacant role. Participants gain insight into sources of satisfaction and/or misunderstanding with the role and learn how borrowing behavior can enhance effectiveness. Available in paper #1152 and online #1252.
